What to see

Weltmuseum Wien is in the Neue Hofburg at Heldenplatz. Its displays cover objects’ materials, makers and uses, as well as how they entered European collections.

Allow about two hours for a focused visit.

Admission also includes the Imperial Armoury and the Collection of Historic Musical Instruments in the Neue Hofburg. Add time if you want to visit either.

The ticket does not include the Kunsthistorisches Museum’s main Picture Gallery across the Ring.

Tickets

Adult admission is €16, reduced admission is €12, and under-19s enter free. Tickets are for a selected date and time, with no time limit once inside.

Audio guides and public tours cost extra unless your chosen product includes them.

Opening hours

The normal schedule is Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00–18:00, with Tuesday opening until 21:00. Last admission is normally thirty minutes before closing.

Special Monday openings on 26 October and 21 and 28 December 2026 run from 10:00 to 18:00. The café closes at 15:00 on those Mondays, while the museum remains open.

Christmas Eve museum opening ends at 15:00. New Year’s Day is listed as 10:00–18:00.
