KHM, ALBERTINA and Weltmuseum

KHM has Old Master paintings, antiquities and the Kunstkammer collection; the main ALBERTINA has modern painting, works on paper and palace rooms. Weltmuseum’s global collections share a ticket with the Imperial Armoury and Historic Musical Instruments in the Neue Hofburg. That ticket does not include KHM’s main Picture Gallery.

Modern and contemporary exhibitions

Check the current exhibitions at mumok, ALBERTINA MODERN and the Heidi Horten Collection before choosing a visit. MODERN is at Karlsplatz 5 and has different hours from the main ALBERTINA. Kunst Haus Wien combines Hundertwasser’s work with contemporary exhibitions; it is a separate building from the residential Hundertwasserhaus.

Free admission and family tickets

Wien Museum’s permanent exhibition is free for everyone without a ticket; special exhibitions cost extra. Many museums admit under-19s free, but Leopold charges €2.50 for ages 7–18 and the Secession’s usual free-entry band is under 12. Kunst Haus Wien has separate youth categories.
