About the guide
Culture Detour is an independent editorial guide to museums, art and cultural walks. It brings together ideas and practical information to help you plan a visit.
The current website is free to browse. Its saved-plan feature helps you keep a shortlist in your browser; it does not organise a trip or make a reservation on your behalf.
Planning your visit
Suggested visit lengths, museum pairings and walking routes are editorial ideas. Use them as a starting point and leave room for your own interests, pace and plans.
A guide is a snapshot. Exhibitions, hours, prices, eligibility rules and travel conditions can change after a page is reviewed. A collection may own an artwork that is not on display during your visit.
Use the linked official museum information for a final check before setting out. A page’s review date tells you when its information was checked; it does not promise that nothing has changed since.
Dates, maps and routes
Day and date filters use schedule information held by the guide. They do not check live ticket inventory or reserve an entry time.
A suggested route is a planning aid. Road works, queues, weather and changing entrance arrangements can affect the day. Check current directions and any relevant venue instructions before travelling.
Tickets and bookings
Culture Detour’s current guide does not sell tickets, take payments, make reservations or issue booking confirmations. Booking links take you to a museum or another provider.
Before paying, check who is selling the product, your date and time, the final total and currency, what is included, and the cancellation or refund conditions.
A museum ticket, live guided tour and ticket bundled with a digital audio app can be different products. Read the selected offer rather than assuming that similarly named options include the same things.
Help with a booking
For a purchase made on another website, contact the seller shown on your booking confirmation about payment, changes, cancellation or refunds. The seller’s current booking conditions are the place to check those arrangements.
Saving a stop on Culture Detour does not hold a ticket. Removing a stop does not cancel a booking you made elsewhere, and a saved plan is not proof of admission.
External options and sources
The guide links to official museum information, booking options and other useful sources. A provider link is not a promise that a particular date is available or that the displayed option has the lowest price.
External websites have their own terms and privacy information. Check the actual destination and offer before entering details or completing a purchase.
The About page explains how Culture Detour approaches its guides and practical checks.
Keeping your shortlist
My plan is stored in the browser you use, with a separate shortlist for each city. The current feature does not provide an account or account-based syncing between devices.
Saved stops can disappear if you clear site data, change browser profiles, use private browsing or lose access to the device. Keep a separate copy of essential information for your visit.
You can remove stops from My plan or clear the site’s stored data in your browser. The Privacy page explains the storage and removal steps.
Images and credits
Photographs, artworks, maps, fonts and other materials can have different owners and licences. The site’s credit pages identify image sources and the stated reuse conditions.
Check the relevant licence and any separate rights before reusing material. A credit does not automatically grant permission for every use. Rights provided by an open licence or applicable law still apply.
A photograph records a particular moment. Rooms, displays and installations may look different by the time you visit.
Reading these pages
These pages explain the current guide and its practical limits. They do not change a booking contract made with another provider or remove rights that the applicable law gives you.
Reading the guide or these pages does not itself give consent to optional tracking, marketing or a new use of personal information.
