What to see

The Heidi Horten Collection is at Hanuschgasse 3, close to the opera. It shows modern and contemporary art through changing displays, so check the exhibition list if you want to see a particular artist.

Klimt ⇄ Warhol is the current ground-floor collection presentation. Elisabeth von Samsonow’s exhibition runs from 19 September 2026 through 28 February 2027, with painting and sculpture exploring bodies, nature and the earth.

Allow about ninety minutes, or longer for a closer look at the temporary exhibition.

Tickets

Adult admission is €18. Under-19s and Disability Card holders with one assistant enter free.

Students under 27 pay €9, and seniors over 65 pay €16; bring ID for the relevant concession.

Tickets are sold online and at the museum, with no time limit on the visit. The Tiqets admission product includes an English and German Smartify audio guide, rather than a live tour.

Opening hours and cloakroom

Normal opening is Wednesday through Monday, 11:00–19:00, with Thursday opening until 21:00. The museum closes on Tuesdays, and last admission is thirty minutes before closing.

Exhibition changeovers can affect which galleries are open. Bags, coats and jackets must be left in the cloakroom or lockers.
