Frescoes, mosaics and sculpture

Palazzo Massimo’s frescoes and mosaics preserve the colours and decoration of Roman interiors. The garden frescoes from the Villa of Livia are a highlight.

The sculpture collection includes the Boxer at Rest and ancient portraits.

Allow roughly two to three hours, especially if you want time for both the painted rooms and sculpture.

The shared museum ticket

The €15 adult National Roman Museum ticket allows one entry to each open site within one week of first use. It covers Palazzo Massimo, Palazzo Altemps and the Baths of Diocletian, so keep your ticket for the other sites.

Crypta Balbi remains closed.

Check eligible youth and free-admission categories before paying full price. Official tickets are non-refundable.

Exhibitions and room closures may affect the visit at each site.
