Start with a focused National Gallery visit

Choose a small group of painting rooms and leave the rest for another visit. Begin outside the Sainsbury Wing, then use its current visitor entrance.

Follow the Strand to the Courtauld

Included museum visit, about 90–120 minutes

After the National Gallery, walk across the north side of Trafalgar Square and follow the Strand east to Somerset House. The Courtauld collection makes a more concentrated second chapter.

Cross the Thames and finish at Tate Modern

Included museum visit, about 90–120 minutes

From Somerset House, return to Lancaster Place and cross Waterloo Bridge using the pedestrian pavement. Take the signed pedestrian route down toward the South Bank, continue east along The Queen’s Walk, then use Hopton Street and Holland Street for Tate’s western approach.

Practical notes

The Courtauld has paid collection admission. National Gallery and Tate Modern general collections are £0; their paid exhibitions or guided services are optional separate choices. Book each selected product independently.

Visit two museum interiors for a more relaxed 4–5.5 hour day; keep the third as an exterior stop.
